Today was such a BLAH day. Gray, rainy and dreary. On my way home from school, the song Lazy Day by Bruno Mars came on and it seemed to fit this day perfectly.
For those who haven't heard it before, I'll post a link below:

For days such as this one, I like to perk my makeup up somewhat.
Here I will post a few tips and tricks to add a bit of spark into your ordinary everyday look.
White Eyeliner:
It may not seem like much, but BELIEVE me. White eyeliner can create an illusion to bigger, whiter, more awake eyes. You don't have to spend a fortune either. In most drugs stores (CVS, Walgreens, RiteAid) you can buy the Wet n' Wild one for only 99 cents! The cheap price doesn't represent the products staying power, it's creaminess, and the fact it lasts quite awhile.

Colored Eyeliner:
Another trick would be to use brightly colored eyeliner. Now, don't go nuts and line your top and bottom lash line mercilessly. There's a way to do this beautifully and tastefully.
To go more in depth, check out this video in which she recommends colors and brands to brighten those eyes:

Curled Lashes, Mascara & Eye Shadow:
Curled lashes can open up your eyes and help them to not appear droopy or smaller. You can get all sorts of eyelash curlers. The most affordable one I've come across is by the company E.L.F and is readily available at drugs stores and online. It works wonders and wont break the bank. A quick 3 second squeeze at the base of your lashes will lift them wonderfully.
A good mascara can separate and give much needed volume and length to sleepy, droopy eyes. The one I got at Walmart was around $7 and did exactly what the title said it would. One by One Volume Express Mascara by Maybelline separated my lashes and after a few coats, gave them an intense volume that changed the whole look of my eyes.
Lastly, white shimmering eyeshadow dabbed in the inner corners of your eyes, the highest point of your brows, a bit on your cupid's bow (the dip in the center of your top lip) and the highest points of your cheeks will give a airy, light, shimmery feel. Whatever brand you use is fine, but shimmer is key. It catches the light beautifully and brightens up every aspect of your face... I use Palladio's baked shadow and bought it at a local beauty supply store.
Well! I hope this certainly helps a few of you out.
